Parents Information

The Cocke County Schools Career Zone is an important initiative that aims to help students explore their interests and prepare for future success. As your child begins their middle school journey, it is crucial that we begin focusing on career exploration to help guide their academic and personal growth. The earlier students begin to think about their career interests, the better prepared they will be for the opportunities that lie ahead in high school and beyond.

At Cocke County Schools, we are committed to providing students with opportunities to explore a wide variety of careers through our Career Zone. This program is designed to introduce students to a range of professions and industries in our region, allowing them to discover their passions and potential career paths. By taking part in this program, students will develop a deeper understanding of the skills and qualifications required for different career fields, setting the foundation for future learning.

Our Goal

One of the main goals of the Career Zone is to help students identify their career interests early on. Through Middle School Career Exploration and Middle School CTE (Career and Technical Education) courses, students will be better prepared to make a seamless transition into high school CTE programs. These programs not only offer students specialized knowledge but also help them earn dual enrollment credits, obtain industry certifications, and gain valuable work-based learning experiences.

Head Start

By engaging in these career-focused learning opportunities, students will have a head start in building the necessary skills and credentials for success in the workforce, technical schools, or college. Our High School CTE programs provide students with a comprehensive, hands-on education that prepares them for a wide range of career pathways.
